FAQ

What is your current production time?  Lead times are approximately 6-7 weeks but please keep in mind that this can change. I am a one-man shop who is creating only the best work for each order.  If I am not satisfied with the quality, I will not hesitate to start over until I feel the it is worthy of putting our name on it. This can delay orders but we feel our clients agree that this is the right thing to do.

How do you ship your orders?  We ship everything in custom S&S Leatherworks boxes via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation.

Can I get my order faster than the standard lead time?  Yes. We have an expedited option if you need your order sooner.  Purchasing this option with your order will bring you to the front of the line.

How do I order a holster from you?  Each holster is hand made to your specifications.  Please contact us prior to ordering so we can confirm that we have the gun mold to make a holster for you. Phone: (515) 421-5600 Email: info@sandsleatherworks.com

What is your refund policy?  Since each order is custom made just for you, we do not refund orders. However, we will do everything possible to exceed your expectations.

How do I break in a tight fitting holster?  Wrap your gun in a single layer of wax paper wax side out and force it into the holster as far as it will go.  Let it set for one hour.  Recheck the fit of the holster by removing the wax paper and reholstering your weapon . If it is still too tight, add another layer of wax paper to it and repeat.  **Do not make it too loose as you cannot tighten leather once it has been stretched. Go slow!**

How do I care for my leather?  We recommend wiping it down with a damp cloth.  If you are cleaning a holster, you can use light compressed air to clear out dust or dirt that may have accumulated inside your holster.  Many leather cleaners and conditioners on the market tend to soften leather and making it unusable so we do no not recommend it.  All products have a sealant coat on the exterior to provide years of protection from the elements and keeping maintenance to a minimum.
